Neste domingo (30), eleitores foram às urnas escolher o governador e presidente. Os municípios
da região da Amau e Amunor não seguiram a porcentagem dos eleitos. Para governador, Eduardo Leite (PSDB) foi reeleito com 57,12%, e Onyx (PL) fez 42,88%. Porém na região o cenário foi diferente, dos 40 municípios, Onyx venceu em 22 deles, enquanto Eduardo Leite foi vitorioso em 18. Além disso, em alguns municípios, como é o caso de Itatiba do Sul, onde no 1º turno Leite havia ficado em terceiro lugar, neste segundo turno disparou chegando a 70% dos votos.
A região difere também no cenário nacional. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) foi eleito presidente do Brasil com 50,90% dos votos e Jair Messias Bolsonaro (PL) fez 49,10%. Já na região, Lula venceu apenas em Benjamin Constant do Sul e Itatiba do Sul.
